Celebrating 10 Years of RCOBAWA: Family BBQ
Ten years. Ten whole years! On Sunday 18 October 2026, RCOBAWA members, partners, kids and visiting Old Royalists packed into Sir James Mitchell Park in South Perth to celebrate a decade of the Royal College Old Boys’ Association Western Australia, and what a morning it was.
With the river glittering, the Perth skyline as our backdrop and the barbecue fired up from 10 am, the park was soon full of familiar faces, a sea of navy polos and plenty of laughter. Old friends caught up, new members were welcomed into the fold and the kids made the most of all that open grass.
Back where it all began
There was something special about the venue. RCOBAWA was formed by a few friends in July 2017, and its inaugural meeting was held right here on the South Perth Foreshore, followed (naturally) by a barbecue. The association was incorporated in 2018, and ten years on we came back to the same spot to fire up the grill and celebrate how far we’ve come together. A big thank you
Thank you to every member and family who came along and made the day such a happy one, to the committee and volunteers who organised everything and manned the tongs, and to the visiting Old Royalists who joined us. Here’s to the next ten years!
