RIDE & CHILL 8 (Cervantes to Hill River)
Another big one is in the books. On 28 October 2025, RIDE & CHILL 8 took the RCOBAWA crew north along the Turquoise Coast, running from Cervantes up to Hill River for a full day of off-road adventure, mateship and more than a few dune climbs.
This stretch of coastline is some of the best 4WD country within reach of Perth, and it didn’t disappoint. Brilliant white sand dunes, blue skies and limestone tracks gave drivers plenty to work with, while the convoy kept a steady pace so everyone, from seasoned off-roaders to first-timers, could enjoy the trip with confidence.

As always, the day was as much about the people as the driving. Old Boys swapped stories and driving tips, lent a hand on the trickier sections and took in the coastal views along the way, before settling in to relax and enjoy each other’s company. A few vehicles may have tested the recovery gear, but we’ll leave those details off the record.
A big thank you to everyone who came along, and to the organisers who planned the route, ran the convoy and kept everyone safe. Days like this are exactly what RCOBAWA is about: bringing Royal College Old Boys together to share the WA outdoors and the Royal College spirit.
Here are some of the best shots from the day.
